| The World's Largest Solid Wooden Baseball
Bat was in The Guinness Book of World Records in 1998 & 1999. Unfortunately,
the category was removed from the book in 2000, but the record still stands.
The bat, turned from a solid cypress log, measures 12 ft. 2 in. long, has a diameter
of 11 1/4 inches at the handle and 14 inches at the barrel, and weighs 280 pounds.
Completed in June of 1996, the bat was made by Thomas Timm, his father Russ, and his
son Joshua. |
